a guide to smoothie heaven

Smoothie’s and smoothie bowls are my absolute favorite breakfast. They are so delicious and so easy to make. The best part is that they are completely customizable. You can add whatever you want to the base, blend it up, and make it beautiful with whatever toppings you want. Here is a do-it-yourself guide to smoothie heaven.

Smoothie base

Pick some frozen fruit:

  •  Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Banana
  • Mango
  • Pineapple
  • Raspberries

Add some leafy greens:

  • Spinach
  • Kale

Make it sweet and creamy:

  • Dates
  • Almond milk
  • Chia seeds
  • Flax seeds
  • Hemp seeds
  • Oats
  • Vegan protein powder (my favorite is Vegan Smart chocolate flavor)

Then Blend! Once you have the base in a pretty bowl or mason jar, add any combination of toppings:

  • fresh fruit
  • shredded coconut
  • chia seeds
  • goji berries
  • cacao nibs
  • chopped dates
  • rice puffs
  • homemade granola: dates, rolled oats, shredded coconut and cacao nibs chopped up in a food processor

Then, enjoy!
